Hanover’s Public Library!

You’re welcome here! We offer educational, recreational, and cultural events and programs that allow people to connect with one another and grow into their best selves. For our littlest members, we have Story Times, Family Place programming, and a children’s play area. Teens enjoy a full calendar, including book clubs, gaming sessions, and our popular Pokémon Club. Adults love our community and cultural events, as well as technology access. For older adults, we host Senior Health and Wellness Workshops every Tuesday. Genealogy buffs will want to visit, too: thanks to a generous donation from Monna Hormel, we offer in-building access to Ancestry.com, as well as other historical resources. There’s something for everyone here!

Parking & Accessibility

Guthrie Library has free parking spaces available at both the front and back of the building.

All York County Libraries’ locations are ADA accessible. Guthrie Memorial Library has the following accessibility features:

The Hanover Public Library Association

The Hanover Public Library Association, Inc (HPLA) was first chartered in 1909 to help the library provide and support literary and educational undertakings for Hanoverians. HPLA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Its primary mission is to steward the library’s endowment funds to create a financially sustainable future for library services in Hanover.

HPLA runs the library’s legacy giving program, The Aristotle Society, which recognizes those who have included the library in their estate plans. By making a legacy gift today, society members ensure the future of library services in Hanover for generations to come. You can leave a legacy by including the Hanover Public Library Association, Inc. in your will; see our brochure for more information.
